FAKING IT FLAWLESS SPRAY TANNING GURUS SHARE BRONZING SECRETS TO KEEP YOUR FAUX GLOW ‘FLAWLESS’ DURING THE WINTER SEASON.

The owners of Faking it Flawless custom airbrush tanning have turned thousands of women and men into spray tanning addicts. These famous tanning sisters divulge their best-kept spray tanning secrets and uncover how to keep a gorgeous golden glow all year round!

November 3, 2011 – “It’s really all about editing your look for the winter season. Your deep vacation glow can take a temporary hiatus along with your bikinis and sunhats, while you show a more natural-looking tan during winter. You never have to say goodbye to gorgeous skin, but it is important to adjust your glow to keep it looking believable,” says Kasey Perkins, owner of Faking it Flawless custom airbrush tanning.

Kelly Perkins adds, “For winter, its all about modifying your color to a lower saturation, like a level 1 or 2 tan, so clients can still keep a healthy glow without it looking fake or over-the-top.” The sisters and owners of Faking it Flawless divulge their top secrets to keeping a natural looking spray tan during the winter season!

  1. Prepare for your spray tan with a deep skin exfoliation. We recommend South Seas Body Polish (available at Diane’s Beachwear in Calabasas and Valencia). It’s a great all-natural exfoliant that strips the skin of oils, lotions and build-up that can create an unwanted barrier between your skin and the spray tanning solution. A great exfoliation allows us to start with a fresh canvas, which ensures an even, natural-looking tan.
  2. Adjust your custom airbrush tan for a more natural look. At Faking it Flawless, we offer 3 custom levels of coverage (level 1 being the lightest, level 3 being the darkest). During the winter season, we recommend choosing a lighter custom spray tan, such as a level 1 tan or level 2 tan to give your skin the perfect winter glow! Make sure to dry your skin well before getting dressed after your spray tan and postpone showering for at least 8-12 hours to allow for full tan development.
  3. Stay hydrated with an all-natural lotion and drink plenty of water. One of the best ways to keep your spray tan looking natural and even is to keep the body hydrated. Drinking plenty of water and applying an all-natural moisturizer twice daily, such as our South Seas Moorea Moisturizer, will keep your skin looking fresh and ensure that your spray tan lasts at least 10 days.
  4. Extend the life of your spray tan with South Seas Tan Extender and Tahitian Tan Mist (sold at select Diane’s Beachwear locations, in Valencia and Calabasas). The best way to get the most out of your custom airbrush spray tan is to invest in all-natural tanning products that will extend the life of your custom airbrush tan. At Faking it Flawless, we love the South Seas Tan Extender and the Tahitian Tan Mist. The Tan Extender is a lotion-based product with a light blend of DHA, which absorbs into the second layer of skin. Once your spray tan starts to fade, the absorbed tan extender allows for a second layer of bronze to come through (and can keep your skin golden for up to 2 weeks). The Tahitian Tan Mist is great for touch-ups to your custom spray tan. This spray formula can be easily applied all over the body for an instant glow that will continue to develop over 6-8 hours. This product can accentuate your existing spray tan, or can be used on areas that experience a bit of fading to keep your tan flawless and even for days longer!

To schedule a custom airbrush tan with the Perkins Sisters at Faking it Flawless, the girls may be reached directly at one of their convenient locations. The Calabasas tanning boutique is located at the Calabasas Commons (661) 505-3577 and the Valencia tanning boutique is located at the Valencia Patios (661) 476-4922.
